Prevent winter damage to your trees

Wrapping the trunks of your trees and shrubs is just another way to prevent winter damage. Young, soft-barked trees are susceptible to frost damage, and any tree can fall prey to the destructive nibbling of deer, rabbits and other hungry animals.
You can protect the bark from cracking by wrapping the trunk with burlap strips. Wind them diagonally around the trunk, and secure the strips with twine. To prevent animal damage, surround the trunk with a cylinder of chicken wire about two feet above the average snowline.  Tree care is just as important during the winter as it is in the summer, so don't let your trees suffer.

If this all sounds like too much for you to tackle on your own, give Trees "R" Us, Inc. a call and we'll take care of all the work for you. Give a look at www.treesrusinc.com and call us at 847-913-9069.
