Hazardous trees recapped

Hazardous trees can happen for a variety of reasons, but regardless of why they happened, they need to be dealt with as quickly as possible if there is going to hope of saving the tree.

It is best to get  a professional evaluation by a tree service in most cases.  If a tree has been hit above or below ground by a piece of machinery, there is a chance that the living tissue of the tree has been impacted. If there is a deep wound on the trunk or limb, or a significant incursion into the root zone, have it examined by a Certified Arborist.

Trees give us innumerable benefits.  It is generally best to try to save the tree rather than invest in a new one.  The amount spent on good tree maintenance is repaid 10-fold by all the benefits trees give to us as homeowners.

Let's all remember that tree hazards are more easily prevented than repaired. You can spend a lot of money trying to rescue a damaged tree, or a little money and time trying to prevent damage in the first place.  A little preplanning and preventative maintenance will go a long way.  And, when in doubt, leave it to the pros.  A tree service can step in and take all the research and guess work away, so you have the time to deal with your construction project, job and family.
